Community Guidelines
interlinked is built for a few real conversations, not endless swiping. These guidelines keep it safe and respectful for everyone. They’re part of our Terms of Use, and breaking them can get you banned.
Draft — interlinked hasn’t launched yet, and this is still being reviewed. Details in [square brackets] are still to be filled in.
Be real
- You must be 18 or over, and verify your own university email.
- Use your real first name and your real age.
- Use recent photos of yourself. Don’t use photos of other people, celebrities or children on their own, or photos that hide who you are.
- One account per person. Don’t pretend to be someone else, and don’t create fake profiles.
Be respectful
- Treat people the way you’d want to be treated. No harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation or stalking.
- No hate. Don’t attack or put down anyone because of their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other part of who they are.
- No means no. If someone isn’t interested, or stops replying, accept it and move on.
- Don’t pressure anyone to meet, to share personal details, or to move to another app.
Keep it appropriate
- No nudity, sexually explicit content or sexual innuendo in your photos, bio or prompts.
- Don’t send sexual messages to anyone who hasn’t clearly welcomed them.
- No violent, gory or shocking content.
- Chats on interlinked are text only, and web links are blocked. Don’t try to get around this.
Keep it honest and safe
- Never ask anyone for money, gifts, bank details or investments (including cryptocurrency) — and never send money to someone you’ve met online.
- No selling, advertising, promotions, spam or recruiting. interlinked isn’t for escorting or sex work.
- Don’t share anyone’s private information, such as their address, phone number or workplace, and don’t share another member’s photos or messages outside interlinked without their permission.
- Nothing illegal, including drugs and weapons.
Respect how interlinked works
- Reply within 2 days of linking. If you’re not interested, unlink rather than leaving someone waiting.
- Don’t try to get around the 3-link limit, a block or a ban — for example by creating another account.
- Only report people for genuine reasons. False reports take time away from real problems.
Meeting up safely
- Take your time, and get to know someone in the app first.
- Meet in a busy public place, and tell a friend where you’re going and who you’re meeting.
- Arrange your own transport, and keep your drink and belongings with you.
- Don’t share your home address, bank details or other private information early on.
- If something feels wrong, leave. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.
If something goes wrong
- If you’re in danger, call 999. To report a crime that isn’t an emergency, call 101.
- You can report or block anyone from their profile or from your chat with them. Reporting always blocks them too, and they’re never told.
- Tell us what happened in your report — it helps us act quickly. If someone seems to be under 18, choose that reason so we can act straight away.
- If you need someone to talk to: Samaritans, 116 123 (24 hours, free); Rape Crisis England & Wales, 0808 500 2222 (24 hours, free).
What happens if someone breaks these guidelines
- We review reports and may remove content, hide a profile, end links, suspend an account or ban it permanently.
- Some things lead to an immediate, permanent ban — including being under 18, threats of violence, any sexual content involving someone under 18, sharing intimate images without consent, hate, and scams. We may also report these to the police.
- We may also act on behaviour outside interlinked if it involves someone you met here and puts members at risk.
